Meeting Meaningful Use Stage 1 and 2 with Business Intelligence & Analytics
With Meaningful Use Stage 2 set to commence October 1, providers face the challenge of electronically computing and submitting clinical quality measures to CMS. Salinas Valley Memorial Health System will discuss how they used business intelligence (BI) and analytics to help attest for Stage 1 and now prepare for Stage 2 attestation in their meaningful use journey. MU Stage 2: Transition from Quality Measurement to Informatics – Implications for Practice of Performance Improvement
Implementing the Meaningful Use Stage 1 requirements felt like taking some of the Core Measures, adding of a few administrative measures and reporting on both. It did not initially appear as really ‘new’ work if you have spent any length of time as a quality professional. However, Meaningful Use Stage 2 is another thing altogether. Subject: [MT-L] Meaningful Use Stage 1 Year 2 process
We’re preparing to attest for Meaningful Use Stage 1 Year 2 (10/1/12 – 9/30/13) and was wondering if anyone who has successfully attested could please share the process? I’m a little confused regarding whether I need to use a new EHR Certification ID, if/how to update the Stage 1 Year 1 registration and finally how to attest. All of the documentation I’ve found deals with the initial registration/attestation and not for the second year. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
