Just checking to see if any Meditech facilities are allowing patients to do any self-registration? Is it an online process or through a kiosk? Would you be willing to share what vendor you are using? How well is the self-registration process being utilized? What policies/restrictions do you have in place regarding self-registration such as how many days before appointment, what types of appointments can self-registration be utilized etc.

Thanks,

I’m just curious if any other sites have had similar issues after upgrading to 6.07 pp5b.

Two of our big ‘gotchas’ have been..

1.       Admissions seems to be getting a lot of record locks during registration. These aren’t the normal record locks like another user accessing the account. We suspect something with the Data Repository perhaps but Meditech hasn’t paid this much attention.

2.       Printing of controlled meds on prescriptions. We don’t do e-prescribing, but some type of ‘correction’ was put in place where a doctor is presented with multiple ‘Print Screens’ now when printing Rx’s. Previously, they’d just print once, all meds, one click. Now they have to click through each med they’re prescribing at discharge. It’s just more clicks, but it’s a total pain and the docs aren’t happy about it.

Not a specific item, but more general. It seems this release, there were more ‘corrections’ that broke things that previously weren’t an issue for us. Due to our timeline, we didn’t spend much time on ‘corrections’.. only the enhancements. We’ve found several instances of items that were flagged as corrections have been new fields/functionality added. To us, this is NOT a ‘correction’, and really made us scramble.

Perhaps I just needed to vent a bit. If anyone has had similar experiences, and has any words of wisdom, we’d appreciate it.
