Hi All,
I was just wondering what your hospitals require in regards to Security and the safety of patient data when interfacing to a new reference laboratory? Do you just look at the VPN tunnel, encryption etc. or do you require a document explaining their institutes security practices or a SAS 70 Type II against the HIPAA security rules?

Do you accept CLIA certification as proof that the reference laboratory is meeting the various regulatory requirements?
