Good Morning,

Is anyone using Meditech’s standard 270/271 eligibility interface?  If so how are you connecting to the Insurance companies?

Do you connect directly to the insurance company?

Do you connect through a clearinghouse or other 3rd party vendor?

If you would be willing to discuss please contact me or respond to the group.

Thank You,

Hi, John,

Last time (a year ago) that I reviewed this with a client, MEDITECH’s indications were that a clearing house or 3rd party was best.  I think there are probably facilities that are connecting directly to payers, so it would be interesting to hear from them.

Last information I had about two years ago, United Health was the only payer accepting a direct 270/271 interface.  Echoing Julia’s note (Hey Julia long time no chat!) a third party clearing house is currently the only solution that will scale to multiple payers.

Thanks,
