Senior
Network Engineer
Client
is looking for a Senior Network Engineer with 7+ years of
experience as a network engineer, with at least 3 years in a senior role
supporting enterprise-level networks. The resource will become a member of the
core network team and play a critical role in supporting the day-to-day
operations of the network infrastructure, ensuring stability, performance, and
efficiency.
This
role requires deep technical expertise in Arista Networks, WAN Circuit
implementation, and F5 Load Balancer operations. The successful candidate will
collaborate closely with IT operations and network engineering teams to
troubleshoot and resolve complex issues and ensure high availability,
performance, and security of the network services.
The
candidate will need to physically reside in OR, CA, or WA and make possible
occasional visits to the office in Portland (as required).
Job
Responsibilities:
- Network
Architecture & Design:Support the architecture,
design, and implementation of LAN/WAN infrastructure, ensuring
scalability, performance, and reliability
- Arista
Networks Support:Manage and maintain Arista
network devices, optimizing configurations and troubleshooting network issues
to ensure seamless operations. Provide expert-level support for
Arista routing and switching environments
- WAN
Circuit Implementation:Lead the implementation,
management, and support of WAN circuits, ensuring proper configuration,
connectivity, and performance. Coordinate with ISPs and vendors to manage
and troubleshoot WAN connectivity issues as they arise
- F5
Load Balancer Operations:Provide expert-level support
for F5 Load Balancers, ensuring efficient traffic distribution,
application performance, redundancy, and security
- Monitoring
& Troubleshooting:Develop and maintain network
monitoring systems to track performance and troubleshoot issues. Provide
regular reports on network performance and health. Proactively identify,
diagnose, and resolve complex network issues
- Performance
Optimization:Continuously monitor and
fine-tune network performance across LAN/WAN infrastructure and load balancing
systems to ensure optimal functionality and reduce latency
- Collaboration:Work
closely with IT teams, project managers, and other stakeholders to align
network support with business and operational needs
- Documentation
& Best Practices:Develop and maintain
comprehensive documentation for network configurations, processes, and
incident response procedures. Contribute to improving network management
best practices
Required
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s
degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
(or equivalent work experience)
- Technical
Skills:
- Arista
Networks:Extensive experience with Arista network devices,
including configuration, management, and troubleshooting. Knowledge
of leaf-spine architecture and familiarity with Cloud Vision management
- WAN
Circuits:Strong expertise in WAN circuit implementation,
support, and operations, including coordination with service providers
and troubleshooting WAN performance issues
- F5
Load Balancing:Advanced knowledge in F5 Load
Balancer support and operations, including traffic management, redundancy
configurations, and other advanced features such as setup and tuning of
WAF policies
- Familiarity
with network protocols, IP addressing, and routing/switching principles
(filtering, peering, eBGP, iBGP)
- Experience
with Cisco switches and routers is a plus
- Experience
with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting software
- Experience:
- 7+
years of experience as a Network Engineer/Architect, with at least
3 years in a senior role supporting enterprise-level networks
- Proven
experience in a high-availability environment with large-scale LAN/WAN
architecture
