Blue Line Talent is looking for a high performing Pressure Parts
Designer with expertise in drafting and layout for a direct hire
opportunity in the Charlotte, NC area. Join a highly collaborative
team of pressure part designers in the capital and service projects
for power plant engineering and manufacturing.

Position: Pressure Parts Designer - Boilers, Power

Work Location: Charlotte, NC

The Client: A global supplier of sustainable technology and services
for mining, construction, power generation, automation, recycling and
the pulp and paper industries.
• Employs ~30,000 around the globe.

Position Details:
• Provide mechanical layouts and designs for boiler proposals and
contracts.
• Prepare system arrangements, pressure part fabrication drawings, and
other mechanical technical documents for boiler projects.
• Perform drafting and layout design of pressure parts for boilers
• Provide mechanical design support for estimating and proposal
activities, including proposal content
• Contribute to development and implementation of processes,
procedures, guidelines, and standards
• Develop technical solutions for mechanical related field and shop
issues
• Perform pressure part design for boiler pressure retaining
components like buckstays, wall boxes and floor beams
• Develop drawings for workshop fabrication

Experience Profile:
• AS degree in Drafting, or equivalent vocational training, and 5+
years of applicable pressure part design experience
• 5-15+ years of experience in pressure part design supporting power
plant projects
• Experience with boiler projects
• Experience with drawings for buckstays, wall boxes and floor beams,
etc.
• Deep experience with Bill of Materials for fabrication drawings
• Strong skills with AutoCAD, strong drafting skills and practices
• Exposure to ASME section I, and B31.1 requirements

Helpful/Preferred:
• SolidWorks for 3D and detailing
• Graphics experience
• Experience with solid fuel fired boiler projects, CFB, BFB
• Experience with tubes, details, panels, sidewalls, floors, floor
beams, ducting, etc.
• Exposure to ASME section 8 and B31.1
• Biomass boilers - Babcock & Wilcox (B&W), Alstom, Foster-Wheeeler,
AE&E, Combustion Engineering (CE)
