The US Census will be at the Maynard Public Library on Fridays thru the month of February to accept applications and to test applicants for local, temporary (2-3 months) US Census jobs.
They report they have many job openings in this area. Pay ranges from $16.50 to $23.50 per hour depending on the position -- Census Takers are currently being offered $19.75/hour, Clerks a bit less, Supervisors more.
At the Library, they will be assisting with the completion of and reviewing applications and giving a short test. Testing takes about 1/2 hour.
I would advise interested persons to phone the US Census at
1-866-861-2010 to register for this; however, "walk-ins" will also be accepted.
People are requested to arrive by 12:00 noon for the testing process.
If Fridays are inconvenient, I believe they will be recruiting in other towns on other days of the week. Phone the US Census for information.
I would suggest that interested people log onto the US Census web site to review the application form, the sample test, identification required, and other information.
