In today’s economy, making sure that the area of Maynard near our homes is clean is a no-cost/minimal time effort that we can each make to help the town be an appealing=2 0destination and place to live. Carol Leary Maynard Litter League The Maynard Litter League, Maynard's year-round anti-litter organization, is working towards the goal of a litter-free Maynard by engaging all members of the community in litter prevention, cleanup, and education efforts.   Here are the cleanup details:   SATURDAY, April 18 BEFORE 10 a.m. at your property Please walk the areas around your property and pick up any litter you see. Check bushes, gutters, and the roadside of any undeveloped land near your property. Anyone living along or near our major roads such as routes 117, 27, and 62 or next to undeveloped land is especially encouraged to check for things that have collected. Anyone who isn’t physically able to pick up litter is encouraged to enlist the help of a neighbor or friend.   10 a.m. meet by Nason & Main traffic island The League invites everyone to join in as members lead a ‘sweep’ through downtown to express support for a litter-free Maynard and pick up any litter that remains in the area. Bags and gloves will be pr ovided.   The 2009 Cleanup runs April 18-April 26. Cleanup . If everyone participates, it has a huge impact on the
cleanliness of our town. As a merchant, please make sure the area
around your business is litter-free Saturday morning. Details are

BEFORE 10 a.m. @ your business
Please walk the area near your store and pick up any litter you see.
Be sure to check gutters and storm drains, and the back and sides of
your building (if applicable). This should take you less
than 5 minutes. If you are a Monday-Friday business or open later in
the day on Saturday, please do your Sweep at end of business on
Friday.
