The following information is what I have been talking to in person (and emailing businesses) regarding Wellness Day 2009. FEEL FREE TO EMAIL THIS TO ANYONE WHO MAY BE INTERESTED IN PARTICIPATING WHETHER IT BE A STOREFRONT OR SIMPLY SOMEONE WHO HAS SOMETHING TO OFFER IN WELLNESS DAY.

 

Good Morning

 

My name is Wil and I am representing the merchants in the Downtown area. For the past three years, the merchants have held an event called Wellness Day. The following information is a quick overview of what we are setting out to do as a community. When we speak of wellness, we are not just talking about our health. We have had raw food demonstrations, hand massages, chair massages, temporary tattoos, free bicycle tune ups, samples of a healthy alternative of foods from local restaurants, financial health, computer health and more.  

 

The big picture is to show Maynard residents and the surrounding communities what we have to offer and how unique Maynard, its merchants and its people are. Once people explore Maynard and all that it has to offer, many find it is a unique place to work, visit and enjoy and live in.

 

If you have a store front, last years cost to participate was $59 which included a full page ad in the Action Unlimited, a $250 shopping spree, flyers, entry forms, yellow balloons for participating businesses and a packet of information. Costs vary depending on the final number of participants.

 

 

If you do not have a storefront but would like to participate, you either find a store front that wants to sponsor you, or we will work at finding you a business that would like to have you. Cost to be sponsored in a storefront is only $25 which goes directly to the merchant to help defray the cost in participating in this event

10:00 – 4:00 PM

 

Wellness Day is an annual event sponsored by Maynard Merchants which promotes healthy bodies, minds and lives.  Free demonstrations, samplings and information about wellness related services and products, are offered at various locations in and around Downtown Maynard.  Practitioners of many different modalities from surrounding communities will be participating.
