How to interpret negative jackknife test gain values

Hello everyone.

I produced a model for each of my five study species using a combination of bioclimatic, land use and human population variables. On the Jackknife test gain plots, some of thos variables have a negative gain. How can I interpret it?

Does it mean that the model produced with only that variable resulted in a worse than random model?
