Join us for a two-part conversation exploring the relationships between historical organizations and schools. Part 1: "I Did Not Learn That in School!” is coming up on May 8th at 12:00pm. This session focuses on historical organizations’ efforts to bring newer approaches to history to the public. The second part, taking place on June 19th at 12:00pm, explores historical organizations’ work in supporting the schools in their efforts to teach local history.

If you went to school more than 20 years ago, chances are that kids are learning a different version of events! What is truth? Join us for a Conversation of the Commons exploring historical organizations efforts in to bringing newer approaches to doing and understanding history to the general public. Is the older history wrong and the newer right? Why do we have to change our ways of thinking about the past? Is there such a thing as “the truth” about the past?

Speakers for the first session include Jean Graves and Chuck Joseph.
