When I've searched for butterflies this season, they've seemed few and far between. But today I had the happy experience of having 5 butterflies come to me as I sat by a pond reading in dappled sunlight:

Eastern Tiger Swallowtail - 1

Cabbage White - 2

Monarch - 2 - both nectaring on goldenrod
