This happened to me in version 1.9 as well. I am on an eMac/G4 and
have DL3.0.1 now installed. I'm not sure what's happening, but
sometimes when I start the program I get an Alert:

Unable to establish database admin connection. Please ensure that
Daylite is installed properly on 127.0.0.1. If 127.0.0.1 is acting as a
server, ensure that Daylite is configured in 'shared' mode and that the
firewall (if active) is not blocking the required ports (20221 and
20222)

I have to completely reinstall DL to get it to work again. The only
thing I can think of is that when my son logs into his "user" on the
Mac, it somehow kills the database connection. As I mentioned, this
was happening in v1.9 as well. It stopped working after I simply
logged out as user, logged in under his name, logged out and logged
back in as myself.

I'm not using my eMac as a server and there's no firewall active. I've
repaired permissions too.

Does anyone have any idea of what might be happening? And of course,
how to fix this!
