Just start using Daylite... I had been using iCal and Address book and
sync via Missing Sync to Palm. It does seem like it has a steep
learning curve - but will be great once I get going (I imported 2000+
contacts - a little overwhealming).

It seesm like it makes sense to abandon iCal and Address book and only
use Daylite (with Apple Mail). Would love thoughts? Would love to
know any hurdles I might get on Palm sync.

Will be interested to see how it goes. I don't think the app (front end
matters so much, as long as the data is in a standard repository, so
other apps can tap into it (eg QuickBooks), thus the reason to keep it
in all sync.

Currently - what you say is true for iCal. You can sync Daylite with
the AddressBook but only import/export to iCal.
Towards the end of the year, we will support Sync Services (at which
time Daylite will become Tiger only - currently it is Panther and
Tiger).

This will be the "bomb diggety." I hadn't thought it would be a big
issue but I have a work calendar in MeetingMaker, and a tool which
can sync MM with iCal. When Daylite supports sync services I'll get
full end-to-end and it will make my life 98.4% mo' bettah'. :-)

I hope they have better luck with Sync Services than the other guys.

Sync Services and the ability to subscribe/publish (xml and iCal)
public calendars are the only two features keeping me from upgrading my
old copy of Daylite.

Any hope of Publish/Subscribe?

I keep a fairly significant number of calendars in iCal for my family
and social groups that I can't see switching to Daylite. I do however
need Daylite for my work and would love to be able to layer all my
calenders, I have been doing this in iCal. It would be much better for
me though if I could do that is Daylite and synch to iCal calendars for
everyone else to subscribe to.

Whew...I haven't tried the new version yet to see how I could
export/import to iCal. Does anyone have any experience with this? If so
is what I am describing possible, or do I need to wait for the future
upgrade?
