We are just about to take Daylite up from being my personal PIM, to
shared network setup. However we see this as a mid-step to eventually
moving to web-based CRM. Why?

One of my biggest issues with Daylite, is that its not web-friendly. I
understand that Daylite benefits greatly from the Mac-only interface,
but what I would like to see is a "basic" web interface, that would
allow clients and contractors to interact, and give simple on-the-road
functions eg. View Calendar to sales staff. Allow PC-based contractors,
to view project status.

We are currently using Basecamp web-based project management tool, for
sharing Project info, To Do lists, and document with clients. I can't
see us moving away from Basecamp unless Daylite can add some web
functionality. The simplest way to do this would be to use Mac built
in Apache server, and PHP. I'd gladly pay for an additional module for
this!

In the meantime we continue to evaluate CRM that can deliver
cross-platform, a the right price:
Salesforce - too pricey
Filemaker solutions - clunky interfaces
SugarCRM - have to go PRO to get reports
Basecamp-makers soon to release new CRM "Sunrise" - mmm where did they
get that name?

Love to hear from Daylite about web-plans...
