It's a small annoying interface quirk but if I select "Done" from the
Status popup menu, I was expecting the completed date to be
automatically checked and auto-filled with the current date and time.

Right now, I have to select "Done" from the status popup menu and then
click on completed to auto-fill the date.

I also expected DL3 to clear the Completed checkbox and the Completed
date if I decide to change the status from Done to something else.

Hopefully a future version will have the Completed checkbox and
completed date auto-filled whenever I select Done from the status popup
menu.

+1 on this; I'd like to see the same.

Have you sent this request to <daylite-...@marketcircle.com>?

If not, I suggest you do, to ensure they see it.

In Projects, if you change the status to "Done" and then close the edit
window, you'll find that it does also check "Completed" and put in the
current date (i.e., it doesn't get updated "live" but upon submit). If
you change from "Done" back to "In Progress", it automatically clears
the "Completed" date also.

Unfortunately, it appears this behavior is only in Projects.

Yep, sent it to Daylite-feedback.

I know if I'm in the Task list, I can click on the checkbox for the
task to signal that it is done. It will auto-complete the completed
date field.

It just doesn't work in the Task Edit window.
