Adding phone extensions

I just upgraded to DL3. Is there a way to add phone extensions to
contact records? I'm probably just missing it.

You can simply type in an 'x' or 'ext' after the phone number and add
the extension to the same line as the phone number itself.

I must be doing something wrong... that's what I used to do in the old
version, but for some reason in the new version, I'm not able to do
that.

I just got the scoop from MC support... in DL3 one must use opt-X to
add an extension and enter the alpha character followed by the numeric.
