Dear Ag2Nut colleagues,

The Agriculture, Nutrition and Health (ANH) Academy is thrilled to announce registration for our annual Academy Week, ANH2020, which will be held virtually and will be FREE for all attendees. We invite you to register on our website as soon as possible, as some sessions have a limited number of seats - Learning Labs in particular.

This year’s Academy Week will bring together a community of researchers, practitioners and policymakers from across the world working at the intersection of agriculture, nutrition and health to foster knowledge exchange, innovation and learning, touching on COVID-19's impacts on our shared work.

ANH2020 will consist of:

  • Learning Labs (Tuesday 23 – Thursday 25 June), with interactive sessions on key skills and tools facilitated by experts from around the world.
  • Research Conference (Tuesday 30 June – Thursday 2 July), featuring rich collaborative discussions, research presentations, keynote speakers, panels and social networking events.

In order to strike a balance between maximizing content across time zones but not overloading presenters or participants, the Learning Labs and Research Conference will take place over two separate weeks, each consisting of three days. Both weeks of ANH2020 will allow participants to explore a mixture of curated, bite-sized pre-recorded materials with interactive live sessions and innovative social hangouts. Pre-recorded content will be uploaded in advance, saving the live events for discussion and collaboration.

The full programme will be announced soon and the preliminary programme for the virtual #ANH2020 can be found here. In the coming weeks, we will send additional information to registrants about the programme and signing up for learning lab sessions.

Thank you - we would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks to you all for the encouragement and suggestions we have received in pivoting towards a virtual event. We are in new territory and it will be a big challenge to trial this event online. Undoubtedly some elements will work, while others may not. But with your support and guidance we feel motivated and energised to attempt this new format which will help us to all collectively move the needle on virtual conferencing.

We look forward to seeing you virtually at the end of June! Please reach out to us if you have any questions by emailing anh-a...@lshtm.ac.uk.

Best,

Sylvia
