Hi Everyone,
Andrew (A student at our Version control class) requested a class on memory caches. See below for tentative topics. Is anyone else interested?
Brad – Want to do this as the next class?
Thanks,

Subject: MakerBar Classes on Caching
Hi Nick,
As per our discussion on Meetup, could MakerBar be able to provide a class on the concepts of in memory caching?
If MakerBar can give a class particularly on Ehcache, that would be just great.
I am appreciative of the effort MakerBar puts into the classes. Overall, please decide on what is best for yourself as well as MakerBar and it's students.
I would be glad with anything that would be chosen to be taught about in memory caching.
It could cover the following:
-eviction policies
- LRU / LFU / MRU
-Storage cost overhead
-Statistics
-Distributed and replicated caching in a cluster
-Caching volatile constantly changing data
-Comparison of different caching frameworks: Memcached, EHCache, Hazelcast
-Oracle Keep Pool
Also, another idea would to have a class on how to choose the best NoSQL DB for a project/use case. That would be very marketable and would draw a good attendance as 2014 saw a rise in NoSQL popularity.
Thanks again! Have a great week!
Andrew
