Student as Guardian - mass mailings?

If a current student is emancipated, do you send them "all guardian" emails for things like sensitive issues, or parent teacher night or snow cancelations?

Looking for use cases and guidance/best practice.

All persons who are labeled guardians of one of our student receive all our alerts and messaging, so that would include students who are their own guardian.

I'd love to know if there is a way I can do it that I can then better explain to my

I couldn't figure out how to make a student their own guardian.  When they wanted to get snowday calls, I created a fake person with the student's cell phone number. Probably not recommended, but it worked. When the student went back with the guardian, I deleted the fake person.

I actually had to reach out about this with IC this is their response:

Thank you for contacting Campus Support, I hope you're doing well. Additional person records do not need to be created when students are their own guardians. I have included a link to the Campus Community page below that describes what to do for emancipated students. Even if a student is not legally emancipated but is considered their own guardian the same would apply.
