Conditions at the Verona Quarry?

We're thinking about swimming at Firemans Park/Verona quarry
tonight. Anyone been out there recently? Curious to hear how clear/
weedy/swimable it is these days...

I think today is the day they start to not allow swimming at night
because they're open. Now, I can't remember their hours--11 or noon
until 7 p.m.?
The water looks as usual, although I didn't get in. There are always
some floating weeds. But, it looked OK.

Thanks for the comments. My guess is we'll be out there around 6:15
if anyone wants to join. FYI, I checked and this week the lifeguards
are on duty until 6pm, and next week it moves to 7pm. (my
understanding is you can't swim outside the buoys while the lifeguards
are on duty).

There are actually two possible swimming holes in Verona.  One is in Fireman's Park, and the other is about a 1/2 mile to the East.  Do people swim in the other one?  My impression is that the other pond has less plant growth later in the summer -- deeper and cooler too. --- On Mon, 6/15/09, Monika <mewi...@hotmail.com> wrote:
