It's possible some people would want to help as it is kids.

Subject: Help needed - Sat Nov 5 - Mass Middle School XC Championship

Started by USATF New England and going into its third year, the Mass. Middle School (MS) Cross Country running on November 5 looks like it will again increase by several hundred runners in this festival for grades 5-8.

As you can expect, this puts a squeeze and a premium on experienced help.  Many coaches and most parents of MS runners have never been to an event anywhere as large as the meet

While Tewksbury HS is providing most of the help on the physical tasks, we need at least 6 to 8 responsible individuals, preferably older than high school age, to handle the registration.
That will include accept waiver forms and in some cases the entry fees, and hand out the numbers packets.  (There is no day of event entry)
Registration will take place from 9 a.m to 12 noon, and can be done in shifts.
It would be best to have individuals with at least running, if not cross country knowledge / experience.

The course at the Tewksbury town fields on Livingston St just off Rt 38 is an out-loop-back course with good spectator visibility.
There are 8 races scheduled, and may bump to 10 if number force an additional grade race.
The events run from 11 a.m to 1 p.m.

I know your clubs often get hit up for volunteers / workers for events, but I assure you that this meet really deals with the future of the sport, not a nebulous cause or charity.

Can you please pass this request on to your clubs, and attempt to get a few helpers for the meet.
With the NE open and masters XC championship the next day, many adult XC runners won't be doing a heavy workout on Saturday, and for others, even a 2 hour shift still allows a run on either side without taking too much time.

Thanks in advance for your assistance in this event.

Steve

I'll be there to help as my daughter will be running!  Hoping the snow on that field here in Tewksbury will all be gone for them by Saturday.

Thanks in advance to all those that can help out!!
