Before pulling the plug on this race, I am sending out this request
out one last time if anyone has room in thier car going down the
mountain after the race? I will wait for a response until Thursday
then will pull out of the race.

Best and Thanks,
Joe

Wish I could help you Joe. I will suggest that in the 13 years that I ran the race, there were years that I didn't have a prearranged ride down. I never had to run down. A ride always materialized. It's a risk but I think a small one, heck, a lot smaller risk than running up!

Joe,

Tom is right. You will find a ride down. The drawback of not having a pre-arranged ride down is that you will not have a bag for warm clothes, but you can wrap a jacket around your waste. Someone will give you a ride down. I wouldn't bag this race just because you don't have a ride. Everybody gets off the mountain. Everybody.

Also, if you haven't tried the MWRR forum, post there about a ride needed. On top of that, at both packet pickup AND race morning, hore yourself around. You just might get a ride that way.

Good luck!
Thor

Drivers will also be looking for runners the morning of.  A full car means they don't have to pay to go up the "hill".  Head to the front of the stage and start talking to people.

What Paul said ...

Ran the Mountain a couple of years ago. Three of us drove to the race
with no pre-arranged ride back down. Before the race started, we were
able to easily find people willing to bring us back down.

I'm sure you'll find a ride.

They have an organized matchup program in the main tent at the registration tent, you will get matched up.
Have a great time, it is a race you won't forget!
