MV Chess Club
MV Chess Players:
Here are a few reminders for the club:
1.
In-person meeting Tuesday, April 7, 5:30 to 8 pm
at the Norman Murray Center. Please bring a chess set and a clock if you have
one. If not, no problem. We’ll be in
the Juniper room.
2.
In-person meetup Thursday, April 23, 4:30 to
6:30 pm. on the back patio at the Norman Murray Center. Please see the website announcement
page for more info.
3. MV Chess Club Ratings and Ladder.
a.
Ratings: We
have started a club rating program (voluntary). Ratings will be adjusted based on games
played with other club members. Games can be in-person or online, with a 10-minute time control required to count. Daily games count as well. Winner reports the results via the Game Report page on the website.
b.
Ladder: A ladder program has started where
players can move up (or down) regardless of rating. If you beat someone above
you, you take their spot, and they take your spot. Ties result in no change.
You can challenge anyone up to 4 spots above you. The winner is responsible for
reporting the results via the website Game Report page. All ladder games are
rated.
4.
Contact Information for Members: To set up games outside of our regular
meetings or make ladder challenges, you can now contact other members in the
club via a contact form we have online. Your email information can stay confidential
if you choose, or you can share it with another member and communicate directly
to set up games. Go to the Club Ladder page on the website to find the button
to contact other members.
5.
MVChess.com - Please
visit the website and check out the various pages. You’ll use this to find information
about upcoming events, contact other members, check your club rating, see the
ladder standings, and report game results.
