MV Chess Players.

We hope you're having a great week. Here are some reminders of upcoming events for our club:

Online - Chess.com
  1. Online live tournament Thursday, 5/28, at 6 pm. These are 10-minute games. Set your calendars and log in up to an hour prior.
    Here's the link:  Online Tournament

This is being hosted by Leah (cobrakai616 on Chess.com), so thank you, Leah!

Also, if you haven't joined our group on Chess.com, please do so! Search for Mission Viejo Chess Club and send a request.

  2. Online Club vs. Club Daily Games - We have two upcoming Daily Challenges for our club that you can sign up for. One versus Hawaii and one versus Buenos Aires.  Go to our club page and look for Upcoming Events to join. Both start in a few days.
In-Person

  1. Our next in-person event will be on Tuesday, June 2, at the Norman Murray Center from 5:30 to 8 pm.    Signups are now open for the Summer session of the MV Rec programs (which we fall under).

Please register to support the club and help us keep a room. The cost is $5 for the three months (three meetings), which guarantees us a room and helps buy some chess sets, etc. The city splits the fee with the club (around 50/50), so it's not a major revenue source for either party. Haha.  But that's not the goal. The goal is to have fun and meet other chess players in our community.

As summer approaches and days get longer, we'll be holding more casual outdoor meetups in the parks. Keep an eye out for announcements.

Finally, be sure to check out our website (MVChess.com) for info about the club, order club t-shirts or mugs (we get $0 from this, simply sold at cost to keep price low), see club ratings and standings, etc. Also, you can check old announcements and updates about upcoming events.

Okay, that's it for now.

Thanks, and hope to see you at our next event.

Regards,

Bill
