MV Chess Players,
We hope you're having a great week! Here are some updates for the chess club:
1. In‑Person Meeting — THIS Tuesday, May 5, from 5:30 pm to 8 pm at the Norman Murray Center. We'll have puzzles, free play, and a tournament for anyone interested. This is also a great time to challenge someone on our club ladder and/or play a “Club Rated” game (see MVChess.com → Ladder page). Any game of 10 minutes or longer can be used for establishing ladder positions and for Club Ratings.
2. Thanks to Alyssa and Leah for setting up the park meetup two weeks ago and the Thursday night blitz tournament last week. There’s another blitz tournament this week on Chess.com, again hosted by Alyssa and Leah.

3. Monthly Casual Meetup We’d like to have one casual meetup each month in addition to our regular formal meeting so we’re in person at least twice a month. We don’t have a volunteer for May yet, so if you’d like to host, we’d appreciate it. It’s super easy: pick a date, pick a location, make reservations if needed (e.g., a local pizza place), let me know, and I’ll send out the info. Then… show up! Here are the volunteers we have so far:
