To One and All:
It's been another long week for
my 'wife for life' AJ and I, and it looks likes we've gotten over pneumonia
. . . we are feeling much better . . . thanks for all the 'get well' notes,
and special cures some of you sent in. None the less, i
Last weekend was about it for the
Midwest and all the beginning playoffs, and National playoffs around the country
for Women's Rugby. In the Women's Premier Division National
Championship the Berkeley All Blues are the Champions this year . . .
congratulations. In the National Women's Division I Championship match the
Atlanta Harlequins are the Champions this year.
On the brighter side our
Pittsburgh Angels beat Severn River in the Women's Division II National
Championship 8 to zip to take the Gold this year . . .
CONGRATULATIONS.
In the Midwest
Men's Division III there's the semifinals of each Conference that were played
this past weekend with Erie and the Kalamazoo Dogs coming out on top in the
Eastern Conference, and the Chicago Riot and the Iowa City Ducks coming out on
top in the Western Conference. The Midwest Men's DI,
DII, and DIII Clubs are done in match play for this fall, and some are headed
for their respective Championship play in the spring . . . follow the links
below to see how it's gone, and what's coming up in the spring.
The Big Ten Universities Men's
Division had a 7s Tournament over the weekend with the University
of Wisconsin - Madison winning it all . . . congratulations
guys.
The WIIL Conference had its
quarterfinals this past weekend and congratulations goes out the Final 4 that
will be playing for the Championship in the upcoming spring . . . Illinois State
University, the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, the University of Wisconsin
- Stout, and the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater all won their respective
matches pretty handily to advance . . . CONGRATULATIONS to all the guys,
Coaches, and Administrators that got their Clubs this far.
St. John's University won the NSCRO
Region 3 Central Final 4 playoff, and Grove City College took 3rd
place.
The results for all of the above
mentioned matches are below under the different Divisions.
There are a few Tournaments coming
up, and the Steel Valley Rugby Club already had a pretty good turnout for the
'Best of the Rest' Tournament that took place last weekend . . . the results are
below. On the 24th of November there's the 4th Annual Turkey Bowl

all about the Tournament . . . it's all about one our own who has Leukemia . . .

. . . it's open to One and All, and a great way to show your support for a very
worthwhile charitable cause.
The Steel Valley Rugby Club is also
holding a Winter Tournament on the 5th of January, 2013 . . . it's the 'Got Your
Back' 10s Tournament, http://www.facebook.com/events/327467987360973/,
which is a benefit for a Youngstown, OH, Police Officer and his fight against
stage three Melanoma. Of course there's the Kalamazoo Dogs Rugby
Club's 19th Annual Snowball 10s Tournament on the 9th of February . . . I
haven't got the details up yet, but it's pretty much the same as last year's,

I'll have both Winter Venues on my site sooner than later, and if your Club has
one coming up send me the information, and I'll put on my site too.
One other Tournament happened this
weekend way out on the East Coast, and I'm only mentioning it because
Minnesota's own Rob Holder was the Head Coach of the Combined Services All Star
Team. The Tournament was the 16th Ambassador's Shield, which was a great
success. The Combined Services All Star Team lost the main match of the
day against the New Zealand Ambassador's XV 41 to 18 . . . to read all about

The Midwest AGM is sometime in
January, but I don't have a date yet, or know where it will be held . . . I need
to get on that right away 'cause this one will be very interesting when it comes
to the Clubs that will stay in the Midwest, and those that will be in Collegiate
Conferences only, with that lead coming directly from USA Rugby's 'new'
Collegiate program.
