To One and All:

I've got all the Conference/League scores posted, and I'm fairly certain that most of them are correct . . . feel free to send me corrections if you notice any, and try to send me the Referee's contact information for that particular match so that I can confirm a change.  The scores and links are listed under my signoff.

Once again I'm requesting that if you are a Referee please send me your results . . . don't forget to text me scores right after a match IF that easy for you, 618-780-0589 . . . put that number in your phone, and let's see if I can get a bunch of scores on Saturday.  The texting will also work for anyone else that has the CORRECT score and which Club scored at least 4 Trys . . . the '4 Trys' thing is important when it comes to the Standings in each Conference.

I'd also like to get all your scores, even if they come from practice matches, and/or 'B' side matches . . . I'll post them.  Another thing I'd like to get is all the 7s Tournaments going on this fall, i.e., I didn't even know about the MAC Tournament, and still don't know where it was held . . . never got a flyer on it, and found it listed on Rugby Magazine's website . . . maybe someone would like to send me the flyer on it, or whatever the organizers sent out to the 7s Teams involved.  I also don't know if that Tournament winner is in the USA Rugby Collegiate 7s Championship Tournament later this fall or not.
Heard there's one coming up in Elkhart, IN, but I don't have any information on that either.  I would think that any Tournament organizer would want to promote the Tournament they are running to ALL the possible outlets there are known to man . . . keeping a match and/or Tournament limited to the very few who are invited and then show up is like cutting your own throat when it comes to letting people know about a particular match and/or Tournament, and God bless the organizers of all the different Rugby venues going on, but for Pete's sake if they aren't going to promote their own venue by publishing it beforehand, and then publishing all the results afterward, who's going to know about it except those that were invited and each of their own fans who show up . . . I mean really, by NOT reaching out to every known source under the sun is the game getting promoted all the time, and everywhere?  In my opinion I think NOT!  At the age of 66 I thought by now Rugby would be in the hearts and minds of almost every American, but to my chagrin it's NOT, and I've been playing the game since the winter of '69/'70.

I had a heck of a time finding results from Men's Division I and Division II this weekend through yesterday . . . I NEED Referees to send me the scores as soon as possible after a match they refereed . . .

Below all the results posted for this past weekend is a small list of scores I received after I sent out my newsletter from last week, i.e., one is a Men's Division II corrected score, and the others are from the Women's Division I - Competitive Region 2 Conference matches . . . there are links to the Conference and the Conference Standings also.

Very soon, like this week, I'll have a Youth Camp posted that will run for 11 weeks at the low low rate of $10.00 per player in Marquette Park, Chicago, IL . . . keep checking my home page, www.midwestrugby.org, for all the details, or, if you'd like to get in touch with the organizer right now contact Stephanie Esposito, stephanie...@loop.colum.edu, 312-747-6469 . . . it's for ages six to fourteen and it starts the 25th of September, and continues on Tuesday nights . . . instruction and playtime starts at 5:00 PM.

Pass this newsletter around to all your contacts, and especially to those that may not be on my list and have them send me an e-mail requesting that I add them.  I thank you in advance for doing that so that more Rugby Enthusiasts will be getting Midwest Rugby news.

There's already been some great Rugby matches played in the Midwest this fall, with many more to come . . . enjoy . . .

Cheers,
Shawn

P.S.  Please keep sending me all your results, especially if you're a Referee to MTR...@gmail.com or TRN...@frontiernet.net, or text me at 618-780-0589 if you find it easier and faster.  Feel free to send me comments also to one of the e-mails I listed.  Join the Google Group I've set up for the sheer convenience of getting my newsletters out in a timely fashion, http://groups.google.com/group/MTRNews/about?hl=en, or, if you don't want to be part of a Google Group send me your e-mail address and I'll put you on my private list, of which there are over 400 members already.
