USA Rugby came out with its Pre-season High School All Americans the other day, and there are a few on the list from the Midwest, especially on the Honorable Mention list . . . only two made the All American Team, while four forwards and six backs made the Honorable Mentioned Team. Of course no player positions were mentioned, other than 'forwards' and 'backs', and so, congratulations goes out for Chuck Koehler (Pulaski Roos, WI) for making the All American Team as a forward, and to Adam Sandstrom (Lake Country, WI, which is under the Oconomowoc umbrella) for making the All American Team as a back. Congratulations also goes out to forwards Jordan Harestead (Minnesota), Bryant Larson (Moundsview, Minnesota), Alex Marshall (Wisconsin), and Rashawn Rogers (Columbus, Ohio), and backs Gavin Brown (North Central, Indiana), Charlie Denk (Ohio City Warriors, Ohio), Nick Glocke (Grafton, Wisconsin), Christian Shupay (Broad Ripple, Indiana), Joe Sullivan (Royal Irish, Indiana), and Gregory Wood (Cathedral, Indiana). Haven't heard from any of the Clubs that need a coach, and so, take a look at all three Clubs http://www.midwestrugby.org/wanted.htm, and if you're not interested pass the information on to someone you know looking to coach a Collegiate Club or a Senior Women's Club.
As mentioned before the Belmont Shore Rugby Club won't be in the Super League this coming spring . . . now out is the fact that Santa Monica has also dropped out. OMBAC is definitely in this spring with a strong positive vote among the EC to stay in the SL. Wonder how much Pearl City is being consider as a Super League Club now? A few years ago it was suggested that Pearl City wasn't being considered due to the fact that where the Club is located wasn't a strong enough market . . . that may have changed by now with two Clubs dropping out and USA Rugby looking to replace those.
