I know a little about what a few of you are building with MOO (and
variants). What are the rest of you all building? I'd love to hear
about what you are building, why, and how. (Show and tell time?)

When I was learning to program as a teenager, I built "Where No One Has Gone Before" -- a Trek-based RP MOO with coded systems. It's still running, but now I'm rebuilding it on a separate core from the ground up in my (limited) spare time.

(nb: recent server move took out our main site. You can see wiki here: http://wiki.wnohgb.org )

I'm glad you asked, Todd. I love to talk shop!

I've been updating a core we built back in the early/mid-90's and
beginning implementation of a RPG that's been in my head (and on my
HD) for 20 years.

Why am I building it? Because it's been in my head for 20 years and I
need to get it out. Game design is my passion, and as sad as it is to
say, this project dominates my thoughts a large percentage of the
time. Besides all that, I miss the old days, and my game is a
reflection of that. It is a combination of the best parts of all the
games I've played over the past 25 years, with my twist on things.

How am I building it? As I said, I'm using an old core that I've been
changing and updating, and now migrating to Stunt. It's not a small
undertaking. My goal is to build a browser-based client as well as
adding support for standard MUD protocols to the server so I, as well
as players, can build custom interfaces for widely used telnet
clients.

The game is called "Shadowfall" and is currently a good solid pre-alpha. :-)

when i first started out i designed a moo called ClanMOO that has been a long time ago. Now as time permits I am working on a new space themed moo using an old ANSIcore and working on everything pretty much from scratch. Time has been limited so it is a slow process.

Holy crap, ClanMOO was the first MOO I was a wizard on. I think I remember you! I was only like 14 then, so forgive me if I was a dick!

I'm working on 2 things:

1) A more traditional MOO, an RP game using World of Darkness rules.

and

2) A completely web based MOO framework, including a MOO IDE written in javascript.

Played my first MUD in 1994 at the age of 12 and it was a MOO.
Working on a Cyberpunk/Post-Apocalypse MOO.
Trying to see if it is possible to create a overhead ASCII map, with
out-of-band commands and Lua scripts for MUSHclient.

All this talk about ANSIcore, I've been trying to find it since ever,
anyone have an original copy or know where one is hidden?
Would be appreciated, I've been stuck with the rpgcore.db and it's
full of garbage.

Oh, I remember WNOHGB. I played on it for a time. It was one I was in
love with for the space system.

That reminds me, long ago I said I was going to clean up a space moo
core I was given and release it for community improvements. Sadly my
lack of spare time has kept me from following through.

A World of Darkness MOO sounds interesting. I'll keep keeping an eye
out for updates on this!

Great thread! I really hope the projects in the works make it to
launch!
