If you want your PC's version of MLO file would have the higher priority than Android's version of MLO file,
on your Android phone please go to MLO->Settings->Sync->WiFi in 'Item conflicts Resolution' select 'Use server version'

I've got the same problem, wifi sync android <-> PC seems very very broken to me.

Every time I try to sync, my PC has a new IP address via DHCP, so I have to recreate the pairing, and maybe that has something to do with the sync problems?

Anyway once I recreate the pair and the sync takes place, everything on Android takes precedence. Any tasks I have marked as complete on the PC suddenly are reverted back to uncomplete.

Any notes I have added against tasks on PC disappear for good. This is not really what I would call sync...

Hi.

Using the latest desktop for Windows version of MLO and the latest Android version.
Have the same issue, but with sample tasks (without recurring) - syncs into in direction Android -> PC.
if I mark task completed in Desktop windows and save changes and then wi-fi sync, old data from Android device is being pushed to desktop.

Any help will be appreciated.

This is not proper SYNC. This is a poor "selective overwrite".

hmm. I don't think that addresses the underlying issue. I don't want tasks marked complete on the Android device overwritten by the desktop/server as not complete. What I want is 'sync'  in a bi-directional fashion, if a task was marked as complete or altered in any way on either Android or desktop, that change is reflected over to the other device.

Obviously conflict resolution always has a part in sync, and either choosing a default direction or prompting the user or attempting merge are all valid strategies, but MLO seems to be treating EVERY item as conflicted, even if only one side was changed (marked complete or other change) since last sync. It's pretty broken.

Murray: fwiw I agree that this is a serious problem. MLO's sync conflict resolution on the Android side is broken, causes me daily, serious problems, and is primitive compared to the quality of sync available in most leading multiform apps. For me, this is the most significant negative MLO. There are so many positives that I continue to be a strongly dedicated user of MLO but sometimes I wonder.

This is not how it works for me, and if you are seeing that behavior, something is wrong. 99% of the time, sync between Android and PC works perfectly for me. If it is not propagating tasks that that are only changed on one side, something is wrong.

There is an issue that if the task was touched on both platforms, you can only choose whether to overwrite on Android or not overwrite. So for example, if a reminder is dismissed on one platform, it counts as a change, so if you dismiss the reminder, and complete on the other platform, one of those changes will be lost when you sync.

However, once I knew this, I decided the PC was the "master" and chose on Android to overwrite in case of conflict, and I've not lost anything except perhaps having to complete things twice. There are times when I'll put off edits until I return to the PC though.

Lisa, I appreciate that this is not a problem for you, and I would like you to recognize that it is a severe problem for others including me. It happens most severely for me with repeating tasks that have subtasks where some subtasks were marked completed on one platform and others on the other platform. On each side, marking a subtask complete causes the parent to sync and there is no way to make it come out correct or avoid losing changes. This would be less frustrating if this were 2003 and sync was a work in progress, however there are many cloud-based services available today that do not have a problem syncing correctly, and MLO’s simplistic and unreliable sync is really frustrating to those who experience the problem.
