In case this is helpful to anyone else... I had continual problems trying to sync my Android tablet with my PC version of MLO. It would work maybe once out of every 20 times. I tried all the standard troubleshooting (same wireless network, IP address correct, etc.). I couldn't figure out the problem.

Then one day I tried to sync my tablet while it was plugged in and charging. It worked perfectly. No delay, no error messages. Tried it several times later. Worked again, no problem. Over the next few weeks, the same scenario repeated itself. If my tablet was plugged in and charging, sync worked perfectly. If not, it was random at best.

Then one day I tried while my tablet was charging and it didn't work. I was puzzled. But then I realized my computer was running on battery, not plugged in. As soon as I plugged my computer in, sync worked perfectly again.

It seems strange to me that having both devices plugged in, rather than running on battery, would allow sync to work reliably. But this has proven to be the case repeatedly over the past several weeks. Anyone have an idea why this would be so?

Hi, Kathryn.

Interesting, and this is the first time I’ve heard of sync needing third, nonsyncing device active in order to work. Also, the first time I’ve heard of a network connection that cared whether the battery was charging or discharging.

Questions:

1. I’m guessing that you are using wifi sync not cloud, right?

2. When it does not work do the devices just sit silently or are there messages?

3. I have several programs besides MLO that rely on wifi connection directly between phone and computer (ES file manager, splash ID, Airdroid, doubletwist). Do you have any? And do they fail at the same time as MLO sync  fails, or do they continue to work?
