I haven't heard of a way. I assume you already have "Sync on exit or go to background" set? It works well if you are in the app a lot, not well if you complete from a reminder or work out of a widget.

Is it possible, using Tasker or another app, force MLO Android to sync automatically?
For example emulate click on MLO Notification?
Or using Shell command?

Paul,

Please check the value in Settings which controls this.

From the home screen, go to Menu>Settings>Sync>MLO Cloud

Check the setting for “Autosync on Close” – it should be checked

It doesn't work for me(Samsung Galaxy Note 2). Exit by Back button doesn't any sync. Sync start only on next start of app(than doesn't look like "Sync on exit..." but "[Manual] Sync on start")

And yes, you are right, it's not well if i work on PC a lot and woult like get new tasks automatically on smartphone.

May be Andrey can advise something about tasker/shell?

Dwight,

thanks for your concern. This option is checked since version 1.5.1 was installed. Nothing happens on exit.
But it doesn't matter. Main question is real auto-sync, even if it would done by undocumented way.

This is actually possible using Tasker, create a task
load app:MLO
wait, I use 3 seconds to give it time to load
Run shell command 'input tap 673 106" this simulates a tap on the cloud icon at the top right which starts the sync

Tried to attach the task as an .xml should be able to import it into tasker.

I have it run every morning and when I change location between home and work, along with other tasker goodies. I am not an expert in either software, just was playing around.

good luck

Wow. Awesome. I've bought buggy FRep for that.

Small remark:

Run shell command 'input tap 673 106" this simulates a tap on the cloud icon at the top right which starts the sync
Checkbox "Use Root" should be checked. It worked for me on Note 2.

The next step - using intents.

A questions:

How do you find out the coordinates of the tap?

I am using a tab 7.7. I believe the coordinates are different from Note 2?

Settings, developer options, tick the 'show touches'box under input. Then gives you coordinates of any touch. A bit hard to read in my opinion, but works.

Do you have it working with screen turned off? I can only get it to sync when screen is on. If it is off, app can only be opened but sync button can't be pressed. For 2 days already can't figure out how to sync MLO while screen is off.

I was trying to set up something similar and gave up last month so I should revisit it again. I was trying to do auto sync based on the setting to sync when MLO goes into the background. Could you set it to open MLO, and then open something else, causing MLO to go to background?

Thanks for idea! This would work, I think, only in case there have been local changes in MLO tasks but doesn't force sync.

Can't believe how the developer doesn't implement this, everyone is asking for this feature.

Hi!

I remember I have a step involved turning the screen on, then wait for 3 seconds (For MLO to finish loading)before initiate click.

It workeIy perfectly but I do not use it anymore to save battery life. I cant remember exactly what are  all the steps now.

All of the latest releases of the iOS versions now have autosync, since V2 of Android is in development hopefully it will feature in this release too.

Thanks for commenting Mark!

I really hope so. Have been waiting for that too long. For me MLO is simply the best solution of all the alternatives. I regularly research if there's any task management app with similar or better functionality and features but no luck so far :-)  so just have to wait until they decide to be nice people and implement improvements :-) ...

Can someone help me pinpoint how to implement this in Tasker now? I assume this is out of date since the input. The app opens for me but nothing syncs.

Thank you!

Just checking in on this -- does anyone have a current Tasker recipe for syncing MLO 2 Android? I look at my task lists almost exclusively via the desktop widget, but these are not kept in sync, so I have to open the app, click on the menu button and then click the cloud button several times a day.

Sorry -- I know I need to learn Tasker fully -- I've started learning about profiles and all of that, but I have two jobs right now so putting down the project of learning it and picking it back up again takes a lot of time for reorientation ... without interruption.

Thanks immesely for any help!
