🚨 Fully Funded PhD Opportunity in Multimodal AI, Behavior Understanding & Affective Computing

📍 Queen Mary University of London | In collaboration with Toyota Motor Europe

📅 Start Date: October 2025

💸 Stipend: ~£23,000/year (tax-free) + full tuition + research expenses

We are offering a fully funded PhD studentship at the Centre for Multimodal AI and the Multimedia and Vision Group (MMV) at QMUL, supervised by Dr. Dimitrios Kollias and supported by Toyota Motor Europe.

🔍 Research Focus
Design next-gen multimodal AI models to detect and interpret emotional and affective states in-the-wild, with emphasis on:
- Multimodal integration & sensing
- Context awareness
- Fairness, Explainability & Ethics
- Generative AI & Personalization

👥 What You’ll Get

- MSc (or nearing completion) in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or related fields
