Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to announce the Call for Papers for the First Workshop for Industrial NLP: NLP Research Towards Safety, Reliability, and Real-World Impact, co-located with INLG 2026 in Utrecht, the Netherlands.

The workshop aims to bring together researchers and practitioners working on natural language generation, large language models, and NLP systems intended for real-world deployment. We particularly welcome research addressing the gap between benchmark performance and the practical requirements of safe, reliable, efficient, and accountable language technologies.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • safety, security, guardrails, and responsible deployment;
  • factuality, grounding, hallucination detection, and uncertainty;
  • robustness, fairness, privacy, and accountability;
  • efficient inference, model compression, and sustainable NLP;
  • evaluation methods, datasets, and real-world benchmarks;
  • industrial applications, monitoring, and LLMOps;
  • multilingual, low-resource, accessible, and socially beneficial NLP; and
  • industrial case studies, audits, negative results, incident analyses, and mitigation strategies.

We invite the following submission types:

  • short research papers;
  • extended abstracts;
  • position papers; and
  • industrial case studies.

Submissions are non-archival and should not exceed four pages of main content, excluding references and supplementary statements. Accepted contributions will be presented through short spotlight talks and posters.

Submission deadline: 1 August 2026, 11:59 p.m. Anywhere on Earth
Notification of acceptance: 1 September 2026
