The People and Robots Lab (PeRL) at Arizona State University (ASU) is recruiting highly motivated Ph.D. students (starting Spring or Fall 2026) and a Postdoctoral Researcher (starting Spring 2026).

Our research focuses on vision-language models (VLMs), multimodal learning, video understanding, and robot learning. Students and postdocs will be based in the School of Computing and Augmented Intelligence (SCAI) and may also be affiliated with the Media and Immersive eXperience (MIX) Center and the Center for Human, Artificial Intelligence, and Robot Teaming (CHART) at ASU. Our work is generously supported by NSF, NIH, NASA, PIT-UN, Google, Amazon, Ability Central Foundation, and ASU.

Qualifications (PhD Applicants)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Background in machine learning, computer vision, or robotics
- Strong mathematical and programming skills
- Publications in top venues are a plus

Qualifications (Postdoctoral Applicants)
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Strong research record in multimodal learning, VLMs, video understanding, or robotics
- Demonstrated ability to publish in leading venues
