The post is an exciting opportunity for a researcher with a strong background in statistics or machine learning who would like to grow that skill set further. They will build hands on experience in developing methodology for machine learning methods and their intersections with causal inference, with a focus on models for brain disease development and progression. The postholder will interact closely with UCL’s Progression of Neurodegenerative Disease group (POND) group and Wellcome-funded CU-MONDAI project within the UCL Centre for Medical Imagine Computing (CMIC), which focus on development of computational models of neurodegenerative disease. In addition, they will have opportunity to develop their expertise on dissemination of research through software deployment and interaction with other researchers in Statistical Science and Computer Science.

This post is funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) as part of the AI Hub for Causality in Healthcare AI with Real Data (CHAI) and the NIHR UCLH Biomedical Research Centre theme on Healthcare Engineering and Imaging.

It is available from 1st of November 2024 (later start date possible), and funded full time for up to 24 months in the first instance.

The interviews are planned for the 26th September 2024.
