Join the BIFOLD Graduate School in Data Management & AI
The Berlin Institute for the Foundations of Learning and Data (BIFOLD; www.bifold.berlin) invites talented young researchers to join the BIFOLD Graduate School for 10 fully-funded PhD positions (TV-L E13 Berliner Hochschulen) in Data Management and Machine Learning starting in October 2026 (4-year programme).
BIFOLD conducts scalable agile fundamental research in the field of Al, primarily in the areas of data management (DM), machine learning (ML), and their intersection, including the development of novel theories, algorithms, and technologies, as well as prototypical systems and tools.
PhD students of the Graduate School benefit from
• excellent resources, such as a powerful computing infrastructure,
• comprehensive guidance provided by renowned international scientists,
• interdisciplinary exchange across AI, ML and Big Data domains at one of the world's leading AI research centres, and
• an international, collegial and family-friendly working environment.
As part of the Graduate School, we offer a variety of professional development opportunities, such as summer schools, trainings and workshops, as well as internal and external networking opportunities (e.g., access to the international BIFOLD network, funding for international conference visits, guest scientist programs).
