Fully funded PhD Opportunities in Epistemic Uncertainty-centric Machine Learning

Dear colleagues and students,

I am recruiting PhD students to join my group — the Epistemic Intelligence & Computation (EPIC) Lab — at the College of Computing and Data Science (CCDS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, starting in August 2026.

At EPIC, we study the mathematical foundations of epistemic machine learning, exploring how intelligent systems should reason, explain, make decisions, and learn under epistemic uncertainty — uncertainty that arises from limited knowledge rather than statistical randomness. At its core, our research leverages imprecise probability theory to build models that are precise about their imprecision.

We welcome highly motivated applicants with strong backgrounds in statistics, mathematics, computer science, or machine learning, who are excited about developing the next generation of uncertainty-aware learning systems.
