Dear Google group: please complete the following letter and email or
mail to Mary Theresa Vasquez or please visit www.thefamilycaregiver.org
and complete the petition online there. You really only need to send
your name, city and state. We need one million signatures to fulfill
the US Postal Service requirement for release of a postage stamp for
National Family Caregivers Association. Everyone agrees it's time for
caregivers to be recognized. Please show your support and sign the
petition and pass it on to your friends, families, networks and
associates.
THANK YOU. Have a safe, peaceful, relaxing 4th of July. (or a wild and
crazy 4th of July) but whatever you do, ENJOY!

Dear Citizen Stamp Advisory Committee,
Currently there are more than 52 million family caregivers
(approximately 17% of the population) in the United States. A family
caregiver is a relative or friend taking care of a loved one who is
chronically ill, disabled, or living with the frailties of old age and
no longer able to care for themselves. The services provided by family
caregivers represent approximately 80% of all home care services and
are conservatively valued at more than $375 billion in 2007.

I respectfully request your recognition of all family caregivers in
America by honoring us with a United States Postage Stamp. Family
caregiver responsibilities span endless hours and reach across all
boundaries of ages, demographic and economic groups with almost
everyone at some time in their lives either being a caregiver or
needing a caregiver.

The Caregiver Community Action Network, the dedicated state volunteers
for the National Family Caregivers Association (NFCA – www.thefamilycaregiver.org),
is proud to sponsor this U.S. Postage Stamp Campaign in honor of all
the family caregivers in America. NFCA is a national nonprofit
organization dedicated to empowering family caregivers to act on
behalf of themselves and their loved ones, and to remove barriers to
their health and wellbeing by educating, supporting, empowering and
speaking up for America’s family caregivers. NFCA’s core messages to
family caregivers are: Believe in Yourself; Protect Your Health; Reach
Out for Help; and Speak Up for Your Rights.

I respectfully request your recognition of all family caregivers in
America with a United States Postal Stamp. Thank you kindly for your
consideration.

Take care,
