MIFit and ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS

So... I made the (possible) mistake of upgrading to Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS this week and for some reason MIFit refuses to start. The shell doesn't even recognize that the MIFit executable exists even though the ownership and permissions seem appropriate (I just get a 'bash: /usr/local/bin/MIFit file not found' error).

Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a workaround or should I reinstall from scratch?
