Thank you to everyone who contributed to the fund for Cayman Naib. Your response was so generous that we are able to honor the family's wishes and the request of several Mount Holyoke Club members.

We sent flowers to the memorial service and it was a beautiful service. It was a tribute to a boy who was athletic, funny, smart, and sometimes lazy, annoying, and a troublemaker. He was a good friend, the winner of a national poetry contest, and an accomplished computer hacker. His friends, family and teachers spoke eloquently about his life through laughter and tears. Cayman's father, Farid Naib, addressed his suicide. There were no signs to anyone who knew Cayman, so suicide was not a topic that they talked about. He urged parents to discuss suicide with their children and for children speak up and seek help.

Due to your generosity, we are able to make donations to two charities in honor of Cayman Naib. We will donate a portion of the funds collected to the Main Line Animal Rescue, as the family requested.

We will also donate to Minding Your Mind. Minding Your Mind takes young speakers to schools to help educate adolescents and teenagers about mental health and remove the stigma of asking for help. Some of their speakers are themselves young people who were depressed and attempted suicide. Bryn Mawr College hosted an open forum to discuss "Stress, Anxiety and Suicide Prevention", put on by Minding Your Mind that asked participants "How is your mental health?". We chose this group from the suggestions made by club members, because we felt it embodied the type of help that Farid Naib indicated could have helped Cayman.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Naib family and especially Becky Malcolm-Naib '87.

Best regards,

Aimerie Scherluebbe '86

Thank you so much for your email and for taking care of all of this and keeping us informed. Your choice of memorial gifts was perfect!
I heard Farid's eulogy was very moving and parts of it were filmed and have made it onto social media.

Thank you again!

Aimerie,

Although it has been said, it probably can't be said enough, thank you for your kindness in bringing us together, keeping us updated and managing the memorial gifts. You are a blessing.
