Nov 1 MEC conference call w/ Travis of NSL
Howie, Doug, Martha, Travis, Lori, Weimin

****************************************

*** community outreach
Lori: Contacted First Congregational Church.
- Can Howie edit letter I used, to merge w/ webpage, so we can use the same language?
- Are we ready to contact orgs?

Weimin: Let's discuss at Thurs meeting. Will send out updated contact list.

Weimin: Talked w/ Pat
Ruggiero and Brigid Alverson who both felt that it would not be good Nov 4 football game, due to the over 3000 people at the new field.
Martha: Construction has not finished on concession stand etc.

Martha: Basketball is next big sports event. That will be indoors, so warm. v. Frank Olivera (v)
I will contact schools.

Lori: Are sports events the right place to leaflet?
Bill Tobin can distribute flyers to contractors & hardware store etc.

*** nonprofit contribution program
Martha: Each MEC contact could re-write s letter to org, using MEC webpage:
    http://www.melroseenergy.org/melrose-energy-challenge.html

Doug: Please convert Travis's "NCP Flyer.pdf" into word doc that we can send out to orgs. Then orgs can send out required language and URL to their members. MEC contact can later remind org to follow-up members.
Travis: I will provide a letter of contribution to orgs.

*** web connection to community groups
Weimin:
I think having a URL is OK for a large group like Youth Soccer. But this is much too confusing for the multitude of small groups. So the general Melrose sign-up page could ask:
"Do you want NSL to give a $5 contribution to a Melrose non-profit group?"
Then you can have a selection list of the above categories. When a category is selected, then the homeowner can refine the selection in a pull-down list in that category.

Travis: This would require NSL decisions & back-end work which would not be available for a year.
Each org should provide a brief description of the org and where funds will go.
Travis will create landing page for each org (can handle up to 50 URLs).
