BCX is GPL'd so I take it this will be too?
Also note that MySQL has multiple licenses and the main is GPL so they
would fit great together. MiniSQL and MySQL have both Windows and Linux
versions.
I was wondering if we should document our software tools to aid
newcommers. For example, I take it PellesC would be the compiler of
choice for Windows?
Here's some of my post from the Yahoo group:
1) MySQL integration (or other SQL engine). My idea is simple. MySQL
allows it to be used as a seperate server, DLL, or statically linked
(embedded server) library with your executable file. Other database
programs are also available. MySQL however is my personal choice and
includes B.A.S.I.C. functionality that will allow BASIC programs to
be run in real time with little programming effort to make it happen.
I am also thinking that the TCL/GK? (whatever it is called) GUI
package could be used with BCX so that the GUI is cross platform.
2) Corss Platform BCX for Linux and Windows. $LINUX directive is my
own add-on and what I use now, but I am thinking if I could get the
RunTimeLibrary thing down to a science (actually make it work) then I
could have both a Windows and a Linux library versions of the
BCXRunTime Functions.
WHat do you think?
I also see that you want modularity and I think my plans would
intermix with yours.

> Hi guys, so this Google site is to replace the Yahoo MBCX group site?
At this point in time, I am open to go in either direction or maintain both.
Marc has expressed interest in using Google groups. I suppose having
discussions in both areas would tend to be a bit confusing.
They're both free, Yahoo has a files area, Google stores attachments in
messages. I monitor lists from both services and have not noticed a lot of
difference between them.
Maybe we use Yahoo for the files area and keep the discussions in Google? I
set up an MBCX project at Source Forge, primarily for the Subversion version
control, and I think Marc is going to attempt to get a Wiki working there.
I hope you guys will help me make things make sense.
Marc and I have been using Google talk chat and hope to try the audio
capabilities. John, I know you've been using IRC and some other kind of
audio chat capability. If you have any suggestions, I'm interested to hear
them.

Yes, the project I set up at Source Forge lists GPL and the BCX exclusion
just like BCX does.

I think that would be fine, or we could just reference the BCX site and have
people start there. Part of my goal with this project is to document
processes and create tutorials, so I suppose documenting the tools would be
a good start.

I certainly don't see why not. As I understand it, it works pretty well and
is being actively advanced.
John, how do you think we should handle the subprojects like your database
connections?

We can also give the source of MySQL out with out apps if it is all
GPL'd
