Walk of Hope 2015-16

Greetings!

Life has presented us with an opportunity to give back to the society in a selfless manner and I wish to share with all about WALK OF HOPE - A walkathon (padayatra) from Kanyakumari to Kashmir during 2015-16.  Walk of Hope is organised by Manav Ekta Mission, an initiative of The Satsang Foundation, founded by Sri M (Shri Mumtaz Ali), a Sufi Saint and an accomplished yogi, we may say, Kabir Das of our times. 

The cause for the Walk of Hope is to promote interfaith peace, harmony and human oneness amongst the fellow Indian. I am the National Convener for Walk of Hope, which will pass through Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and J&K, over 6,600 km of walk, 18 km a day and it will take us about 15 months to complete the padayatra. It will commence from Vivekanand Rock Memorial on January 12, 2015.

The objectives include: sustainable living, women empowerment, community health, peace education, youth development, and contributing to the social causes such as free education to persons with disabilities. We are supported by the National Foundation for Communal Harmony (NFCH), Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, NSS, NYKS, NCC and several schools and institutions en-route and eminent personalities from all walks of life. We have ensured that the padayatra also comes to Kurukshetra University.

The purpose is entirely non-political and we will walk under the Manav Ekta Mission banner and white flag. 

I call upon all friends to support the cause and the event in whichever manner you could. If you are residing in the states en-route, you could perhaps walk a while with us and provide local support.
