after eating all the good stuff... Find a walking partner for the
Holidays if you can't help but eat all the good stuff to keep the
weight down.
Counter the temporary Holiday weight gain by walking 30-60minutes/
day. You will have to do this for approximately 7-8 days to keep the
meals from converting to fat (If you have a tentancy to overeat during
the Holidays. Of course, this only applies to those of us that
consume extra calories during the 4 day festivities (including xmas
and New Years).
The assumption, adding 3500cal in a four day overeat scenario @
875Cals/day (equals 1lb gain). Walk briskly for 30-60 min (burn
250-600cal/day). Walk 14 days, or 6 days to burn the 1lb gain once
converts to fat. The calorie burn computations vary significantly
dependant on gender, pace, walk course, intensity, metabolism and
time.
Also walk at a pace that is comfortable where you can talk without
being out of breath. This will put you into a Target Heart Rate zone
that maximizes fat burning.
Now go out there and enjoy yourself armed with fat attack guilt
prevention knowledge! Happy Holidays!
