Happy New Year to all. We want to thank everyone for their support and
interest this past year...especially those who chose to give books for
the holidays. It was a very bookish holiday, and we are very grateful
for your support during these rather complex times.

We have had some wonderful material come in recently, including some
interesting Joyce material, some exceptional Rockwell Kent items and a
unique photographic collection (in excess of 700 images) of US
Capitols circa 1930. We are especially looking forward to taking this
photo collection to the D.C. fair. Also, we will be debuting at the
California ABAA fair a large and important collection of personal
correspondence and ephemera from one of the 20th century's largest
cultural figures. This should make quite a splash when it becomes
unwrapped.

Our show schedule for the first quarter or so of 2009 is as follows:

42nd Annual California ABAA Book Fair

Concourse Exhibition Center, San Francisco, CA - Feb. 13-15

D.C. Spring Antiques Show
http://tinyurl.com/7yqujl
Walter E. Washington Conv. Center, Washington, DC - March 6-9

28th Annual Florida Antiquarian Book Fair
http://tinyurl.com/7xr3bo
The Coliseum, Tampa, FL - March 13-15

49th Annual New York ABAA Book Fair
http://tinyurl.com/9mqat8
Park Avenue Armory, New York, NY - April 3-5

Boston Antiques Weekend (MARIAB)
http://tinyurl.com/8zez77
Seaport World Trade Center, Boston, MA - April 18-19

Needless to say, we will be traveling quite a bit over the next two or
three months. If you are able to attend any of the shows, please
contact us so we can arrange for free passes. We will be striving to
have interesting surprises at all of the shows...and treats for those
who mention the newsletter and/or blog.

Speaking of the blog, it can be found here (http://tinyurl.com/ru9kv)
and you can read it there or subscribe to it in a variety of ways if
you are so inclined. Also, we have a growing presence and following on
FaceBook. Please feel free to "friend" me (http://tinyurl.com/8kg93g)
and/or become a "Fan" of Lux Mentis (http://tinyurl.com/8qhynt). Our
FaceBook page includes an RSS feed from the blog and will be
increasingly a source for images, quick updates and things that do not
make it on the blog.

Finally, I have agreed to be one of a small cadre of biblio-bloggers
at Fine Books & Collections new blog (http://tinyurl.com/4l6kl9). It
should be great fun and, I hope, a useful and interesting addition to
their wonderful content. Other bloggers include Brian Cassidy, Chris
Lowenstein, Michael Lieberman, Jeremy Dibble, Scott Brown, Forrest
Proper and others. I am looking forward to seeing how this project
evolves.

Thank you, again, for all your support. As always, please do not
hesitate to contact us if and when we might be of assistance on any
bibliophilic matter. We hope to see/hear from you all over the next
few months.

Warm regards,
/ijk
