Alvin Ailey Master Class today at Lula's

Matthew Rushen, a leading soloist with the Alvin Ailey American Dance
Theater, will teach a Horton based modern dance class for intermediate
to advanced dance students on today, Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2006, from 4 to
5:30 p.m. at the Lula Washington Dance Theater studio, 3773 S. Crenshaw
Blvd., Los Angeles CA 90016. Spectators are encouraged to watch. A

323-292-5852. Matthew Rushen began his dance career in Los Angeles and
studied briefly with Lula Washington before joining the Ailey Company.
Other alumni from Lula Washington Dance Theatre to join the Ailey
company include Khilea Douglass, who will dance with the Ailey company
during its engagement at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion this week. Also,
dancer Jeremiah K. Tatum, who went from Lula Washington to Alvin Ailey
at age 17 to become the youngest dancer ever to join the Ailey company.
