Imagine: a serial killer escapes from jail, rapes and murders people, washes the blood off his hands in the rest room of a gas station off the highway, climbs up the slope, stands there staring into the racing headlights as a hundred cars whiz by. Finally, a car stops. It's another serial killer who usually rapes and murders hitchhikers. They try to rape and murder each other, but they both survive, then they fall in love and move to Aspen, Colorado. Swinging back and forth between mutual rape and attempted murder seems to be the pattern in a lot of adult relationships, at least on TV news shows.
