Chick Singer Night is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping female artists in every stage of their careers. Each show is unique and features established as well as up and coming local & regional artists. With 11 cities participating around the country, CSN alumni include Norah Jones and Sheryl Crow and well as many other amazing female artists. 
 
We're taking the best artists and best performances and putting them all together into one amazing show: The Best of Chick Singer Night @ Summerfest! This is a one time only show...so don't miss it!

With powerful songs and a deeply soulful voice, Kira Small is the real deal. Now based in Nashville, this Milwaukee native is a Berklee College of Music graduate and former voice faculty member. She has worked with Wynonna Judd, Martina McBride, Garth Brooks, Gretchen Wilson, Radney Foster, and the

Rhonda Begos, Berklee College of Music grad, roomed with Susan Tedeschi and still performs with her from time to time. Well known in Milwaukee, Rhonda sings in many local bands, does the National Anthem at national events and often performs in Chicago. Carmen Nickerson, a professional vocalist, has traveled the world. In LA, Carmen worked sessions for Hollywood Records (subsidiary of Disney) & recorded on soundtracks. She worked w/many local bands including Mary Karlzen, Sister Moon, The Eddie Butts Band. Also a session singer for Hal Leonard, teaches piano/guitar & records commercial jingles. www.carmennickerson.com  

 

Jayme Dawicki is the 2006 WAMI Female Vocalist of the Year plus 2006 Song of the Year Nominee for "Cold One".  She works as a professional pianist, vocalist, and songwriter in Milwaukee, and has a rock group: The Jayme Dawicki Band.  Her debut album is entitled "Standing on a Bridge". www.jaymedawicki.com

Jeanna Salzer is a budding singer/songwriter from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Her style is inspired by soul, jazz and pop. She has been writing music since the age of 14. Jeanna has performed at Piano Blu, Coffee Beans Café and Marquette University. She is currently studying music therapy at Alverno College. www.myspace.com/jeannasalzer

Ellen Winters’ voice has been described as “full of spark and witticism”. She has won/been nominated for some top music awards in Milwaukee & teaches voice in Milwaukee/ Chicago. After being in “The Best of Milwaukee CSN” @ Bastille Days, Harley Rally & Summerfest, she’s thrilled to be BACK w/her fellow Chick Singers @ Summerfest! www.ellenwinters.com 

Jenny Thiel graduated from St. Norbert College with a degree in music & emphasis in vocal performance.  Jenny recently married and relocated to the Milwaukee area.   She still performs with a Big Band in Green Bay.  Jenny could be seen on stage for the past 6 years performing with Let Me Be Frank Productions & performing the National Anthem at several venues in NE Wisconsin.

Tamara Anderson: nationally known voice teacher, vocal arranger & producer works w/many recording/touring artists both on major & independent labels.  Major radio/television voice-overs, jingles, vocal performance awards and the director of “The Progressive Singer’s” vocal workshops. She competes with her beautiful multiple Grand Champion and very cool Paint Horses  “Holly” & “Classy”. www.tamaraanderson.com. 

 

Linda Stieber is a Milwaukee actor/vocalist whose resumé includes A Cudahy Caroler Christmas (Marcus Center); Get Happy: The Music of Judy Garland (Skylight Opera); Lilli/Kate (Kiss Me, Kate) and Sally Bowles (Cabaret) (Sunset Playhouse); Queenie (The Wild Party); and Judy Garland (JUDY: An Intimate Evening With A Legend).  Love and Thanks ~ always ~ to Mark.

 

Dan and Matt Johnston have been singing, writing songs and playing guitar since they were children. Blending styles including blues, folk, rock, country, and gospel, the Johnston’s craft original insightful songs filled with tight harmonies and melodic hooks delivered with soulful conviction and stellar musicianship. www.theupandatoms.com

 

West coast roots mixed w/ Midwest overtones influence Leah Jee’s style of pop rock w/ a punk twist. Her catchy melodies, poignant lyrics & passionate performances are captivating.  In the works are tracks on WI independent film soundtracks, an EP and tours throughout California & the Midwest. www.leahjeemusic.com

 

Although she plays guitar, drums & keyboards, Anna Bohn’s passion is to communicate her emotions through her voice.   She has roots in classical music, w/influences ranging from 70's rock to fusion and even a bit of folk.  Her band, Once-the-Sun, performs a blend of hard rock w/ sharp-edged emotional lyrics (top winners in several EMERGENZA shows). www.myspace.com/oncethesun

 

Lynne Rasbornik, a Wisconsin native, enjoys attending the WAMI's for fun.  She recieved an honorable mention from an American Billborard songwriting contest.  She sings on various worship teams, solo's in church, sings at weddings and conferences. Lynne and her son Jake write music and play at local coffee shops.

 

Julie Moffitt's music has been described as Sheryl Crow meets Fiona Apple – sultry chick rock.  She has been signed to Milwaukee's own Burst Records. She plays all over the country and her new CD, Stolen, has been getting lots of national attention and great reviews. www.myspace.com/juliemoffitt

 
Alaria Taylor is the director of Chick Singer Night-Milwaukee,  a 5x WAMI(Wisconsin Area Music Industry) award nominee (2007 Folk/Acoustic Artist of the Year, 2007 Female Vocalist of the Year, 2006 Folk/Acoustic Artist of the Year, 2005 CD of the Year, 2005 Song of the Year) and she's a voting member of The Recording Academy (The Grammy's). She's got over 50 national and regional songwriting awards including 7 Billboard World Song Contest awards, Songwriters of Wisconsin-Songwriter of the Year & Great American Love Song Contest.  She's the coordinator of GoGirlsMusicFest in Milwaukee, on the WAMI board of directors, a singer/songwriter/guitar player and allergic to everything:) www.alariataylor.com
